It's getting close to 2009, so I thought I would take this chance to show you some of the new directions I'll be moving towards next year. Most People Are DJs has always been my outlet to promote media and music that doesn't have mainstream recognition, but I think deserves wider attention. The subjects I choose are usually people like myself, that take on the DIY ethic of creating, marketing and releasing their product all on their own. Charlie Slick, the subject of this "MPAD Presents" video is a perfect example of a DIY artist with a clear vision of his wacky, dynamic artistry and why he does what he does. It's a 7 minute video taking live clips from some of Charlie's shows and an interview I conducted with him in September. It's a bit rough, but most of it was done with a Flip video camera and a primitive video editing program, proving anybody can do this.

It took me a little longer than usual to crank this one out. I'm not sure why. Mostly it was a matter of finding the time to sit in front of the mic and record. But, I haven't been busy, I've been spending to much time on my iTouch and watching bad TV - which I'll talk about next week. This week I review a bad movie and even worse commercials.
