My Odeo Podcast

Mikel O.D. - mostpeoplearedjs's Podcast - mostpeoplearedjs's Podcast

I put this show up a little early because I'm on the long road home on Sunday and Monday. On this episode I make up for the talking I excluded last week by having commentaries on who I'm supporting for President, the car brand Scion and 3 music podcasts I recommend. For music, I play some recent music from 2 legendary bands (in my book) The Wedding Present and Bauhaus. I also play some indie pop and hip hop.

music -

Los Capesinos - Knee Deep At The ATP (PMN)

The Cribs - Man's Needs Women's Needs Whatever (PMN Spotlight Mix)

The Wedding Present Interstate 5 Extended (mp3)Buy at iTunes Music Store

Cinerama 10 Denier (mp3) Buy at iTunes Music Store

Bauhaus Too Much 21st Century (mp3) Buy at iTunes Music Store

Zucker DJs - You can Do It (remix)

Kenan Bell - Celebrity

mentions (I may forget a couple of these I name-dropped a lot)

what I bought at Virgin Megastore:

Hot Chip - Made In the Dark

5 Years Get Physical

Urban Gothic

Perfect From Now On

Scion "I Heart Comix" remix

3 music podcasts you should listen to:

The Datasound

Captain Greybeard's Etherwave Radio

Have You Heard

Movement 2008!!!!!

In this episode is also news on my new sponsorship from eMusic.

Summerbirds In The Cellar - Now We Are Ugly

Matthew Dear, Hot ChipDon and Sherri (mp3)More On This Album

I'm pleased to announce that for the next few months, eMusic, the place to go for digital downloads, is a sponsor for Most People Are DJs. Having eMusic as a sponsor for my show has been a goal of mine since I started the show. After all, most of the music I listen to comes from eMusic and it's been that way for five years. The best thing about the sponsorship is sharing a great deal with my listeners. When you click on the image above you get 35 songs for free as trial offer. I'll talk more about the offer over the next few episodes. If you decide to try eMusic please use the link above so eMusic knows it's me that sent you to them.
To prove how much I love eMusic I'm going to be using this blog space to write about eMusic offerings. I'll have track listings for some of my favorite mixes, reviews of new releases available at eMusic and information about some of the odder but infinitely cooler offerings available at eMusic. For today, try a band that because of their name will never receive much radio play but they sure will get the media buzzing.

There is so much that went on last week, here's a few highlights:

I went to Phonotropic on Friday and saw hip hop artist SignOne he was incredible with humor and intelligence.

The podcast the Tripwire is the podcast (and blog) to hear what is some of the best music coming out today.

I'm seeing the band Islands tonight, should be a good show.

Rob and I recorded a new episode of Supernot if you want to hear some takes on current entertainment/pop culture.

interviews/music:

Beats for Beginners - Freaky Girl remix (Check out Palms Out Sounds)

Velvet Code - Slave Love Master, Can't Explain

Seth Harwood Interview - Get Jack Wakes Up on Palms Sunday, March 16!

Madvillain - All Caps

Kenan Bell - Save Your Life

It's time for another MPAD video edition! This one features 2 songs that I recorded at live shows by Champions of Breakfast and Charlie Slick. It's amazing how much work even putting together a 10 minute primitive, DIY video is, but it's fun and I hope you like the "not-so"hidden messages!

bands:

Champions of Breakfast "Unicorn Bible" live from the Elbow Room

Charlie Slick "My Name Is" live from Luna

Both bands are performing at this week's Metro Times Blowout!

mentions:

intro: Nina from Baileys
